I did not forget about this little blog of mine. I just don't know what to write about currently. I haven't done anything exiting recently to be honest (as far as programming is concerned) hence the lack of posts.
Last week I bought myself a brand new shiny laptop. It has replaced my old PC and (I hope) it will serve me good on collage (you know, making notes, doing the lab exercises on it, ...).
It's a HP nx7400 with a Dual 2 Core CPU (@1.83Ghz), 1GB RAM, Bluetooth, Wireless, DVD burner, ... and a 15˝4 BrightView display. I have paied extra for the 3 year "HP CarePack" (by default you only get 1 year). That was a little bit pricey but I think it will pay off.
Currently I run a XP Pro system all patched up and equipped with the things I need (Visual Stuido 2005, UltraEdit, OpenOffice.org (I always used Microsoft's office but I decided to give OO.org a try this time around), Firefox, WinAmp, Apache+PHP+MySQL, ...).
And lately I was fiddling with the thought to board the early-adopters train for Windows Vista (luckily I have access to (legal off course) Vista already...). I don't know the thing just looks so good damn sexy (feature wise).
And I use a dula-monitor workplace at home as you can see on the picture. Really boosts productivity.
And just a day ago I got a wireless router, so now I have internet in every room in the house (and in a ~60m radius around the house). The router is Linksys WRT54GL. I was really impressed with it. I just plugged it in , imputed user name&password for ADSL and the thing just started working. I don't remember setuping a device before that would just work (except monitors and mouses and things like that). And I have to check the various open source firemwares for this little box; I heard you can do wonders with it.
And here are some pictures of my HQ :)
